1 - Regular Thorough Vacuuming
Regular and thorough vacuuming is the best thing you can do for your carpets. Traffic areas, places where you do most of your living, need the most attention. Be sure to do this with a well maintained vacuum. For best results use a vacuum with a beater bar or rotating brush with plenty of suction. Change bags and filter routinely. Keep recovery tanks clean. Vacuum lightly soiled areas two or three passes. Traffic and heavily soiled areas normally need from seven to 10 passes.

2 - Prompt Cleanup Of Spots & Spills
Today's carpets resist stains better than ever before. But prompt cleanup of spots, spills, and pet accidents is still a must. The longer you wait, the harder cleanup becomes. Left untreated, many spots and spills can become permanent stains.

3 - Periodic Deep Cleaning By Experts
Microscopic "soiling" and "foot traffic" are two forces that rob carpets of beauty and luster, Routine vacuuming and periodic deep cleaning by experts work together to control this damage. Warranties call for professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months. The US EPA provides the chart below to assure healthy indoor air.

Hardwood Floor Care

As recommended by the National Wood Floor Association.

  • Use dirt trapping walk-off mats at all exterior doors.
  • Strong sunlight can cause fading of wood and wood stain. To avoid uneven appearance move area rugs occasionally and drape or shade large windows to avoid direct sunlight on the wood.
  • Apply fabric-faced glides to the legs of your furniture.
  • Vacuum or dust your wood floor as often as you vacuum your carpet.
  • Wipe up food and other spills immediately with a damp (not wet) cloth. Standing moisture can damage poorly finished floors.
  • Avoid soaps. They can build up and create problems. For cleaning use cleaners that are specifically formulated for wood floors.

We recommend using Florguards when moving major appliances. Florguards will prevent damage to your floors from sharp edges and even the weight of the appliance/ A heavy refrigerator can leave indentations in some floors.
